Crocosmia 'Emily McKenzie'

Crocosmia (montbretia) 'Emily McKenzie' offers something very different for your summer garden. This very showy collection of small flowers held aloft on long arched stems between spear-like leaves, will provide a strong show if planted in fairly large groups in full sun or semi-shade. The small florets of Crocosmia 'Emily McKenzie' feature a striking combination of orange and red, the brilliant red forming a collar around the base of the petals. Crocosmia flower from the middle of summer through to early autumn. They could also look charming in containers on the patio.

These orange crocosmias grow quickly and can end up overcrowding themselves after a couple of years so it may be necessary for you to thin them out occasionally by dividing them.

* Crocosmia are hardy perennials and flower every year once established. After planting, they will flower from their second year onwards. In the first year they may produce foliage only.
