The Story

For many years, Astilbe 'Vision in Pink' has been a popular and high-selling Astilbe. Pale pink plumes rise above a dense mound of large, blue-green leaves with a coarse texture. As with all Astilbes in the Visions series, this is a tough, hardy and robust plant. It is a member of chinensis (Chinese) species, which is a later-blooming species useful for extending the flowering season into late summer.

Astilbes are a great choice for shady gardens, where they perform particularly well if given a moist soil, and are watered regularly in warm weather. Astilbe chinensis 'Vision in Pink', being slightly shorter than many, will thrive at the front of a border or even in a tub or mixed containerbut again, regular watering is the key.  Also known as false goat’s beards or false spireas, Astilbes are reliable garden favourites, and tend to love the British climate. They even tolerate quite heavy clay soils. ‘Vision in Pink’ even makes excellent cut flower, fresh or dried.
